Buns in the Sun Inc Buns in the Sun is a busy little Bakery/Deli. Serving sandwiches and freshly baked breads, this is a great place to pick up some food on your way to the beach or the volcano. Buns also serves breakfast starting at 5:00AM. You have to try their Kalua Pig sandwich - absolutely delicious! View map.
Cassandra's Greek Taverna Cassandra's is a wonderful little Greek restaurant overlooking Kailua Pier, across the street from the King Kam Hotel. The food is authentically Greek, and they even serve breakfast.
Cuz'ns Deli Cuz'ns is waterfront, nestled within the shops of the Kona Inn Shopping Village. Hot and cold sandwiches, ice cream, and internet access with a beautiful view of the ocean and Kailua pier. Eat inside or outside. This is a great spot to grab a cone of macadamia nut ice cream, then walk out on the sea wall and watch the sunset! Vew map.
Hayashi's You Make the Roll - Sushi Take Out You Make the Roll is the best sushi restaurant in Kailua-Kona! Although the restaurant itself is nothing more than a take-out counter with a few outdoor cafe-style tables, looks are deceiving... This sushi restaurant is a hidden gem, tucked away in the rear of the Kona Marketplace (entrance faces Sarona Rd.), near Sandwich Island Divers. The sushi is delicious, the rolls are huge, and the prices are unbeatable! View map.
Kamuela Deli Kamuela Deli is your typical Hawaiian lunch counter deli. Serving a mix of Asian cuisines with a uniquely Hawaiian flavor. Korean kalbi, teriyaki, sandwiches, mac salad, and more. This is a tasty, very affordable restaurant.
Ocean Seafood Chinese Restaurant Ocean Seafood offers an authentic Cantonese cuisine. There is an 18-item lunch buffet on Mon-Fri and a 22-item dinner buffet which includes shrimps and mussels. Rapanui Island Cafe The Rapanui Island Cafe serves food similar to what the former Sibu Cafe served (formerly at this location). The wonderful Malaysian-Indonesian influenced food is tasty, at great prices. Rapanui is inside a tiny shopping mall (and nearly hidden by a large stone fountain) close to the pier in central Kailua-Kona. No credit cards. View map.
Taeng-On Thai Good Thai food conveniently located upstairs in the Kona Inn Shopping Village. Great view of Ali'i Drive while dining. We really enjoyed their duck dishes - all of their food was flavorful and very reasonably priced. View map.
Thai Rin Restaurant Thai Rin offers a fine selection of Thai dishes in a beautiful setting. Enjoy their cuisine while watching the famous Kona sunsets. Sit indoors or outside on their patio with a splendid view of the ocean. Prices are moderate.
Wasabi's Japanese Cuisine Wasabi's is centrally located in the heart of Alii Drive, offering a good selection of Japanese food and a decent Sushi menu. Eat indoors or outside and enjoy the cuisine.
