Waialea beach is located along the paved road near the 69 pole marker that runs from Hapuna Beach to Puako town. It is located in Waialea Bay. This white sand beach is surrounded by groves of trees and foliage that provide a lot of shade. This inlet is fairly protected, offering calm, clear waters and a sandy bottom for swimming. There are lava rock outcrops on the both ends of the beach.
Waialea Bay is a marine protected area. You will see a variety of tropical fish in the shallow waters.This beach is secluded and a wonderful place to relax. Although it is adjacent to popular Hapuna Beach, there you will find no crowds at Waialea.

Directions: Take Highway 19 north from Kailua-Kona. Turn left on Puako Road before Mile Marker #70. Turn right at the next access road. Park by telephone pole #71. Walk toward the houses. Take the trail to the left toward the shoreline.
